Help with my brake dash light

Brake mc had real low fluid....That caused me to pump the brake quite a bit and them on came the brake warning light.....I topped up the mc and the brake pedal is strong again without any fading...But the brake warning light keeps coming on....Comes on and goes out.....Goes on a lot when I hit the brake pedal.....I think my mc is okay because the pedal is still strong and the brake fluid is at the proper level.....What's the fix - or what do you guys think....Thanks!

Sounds like you've got a leak somewhere. Maybe a bad wheel cylinder.

Follow the lines out of the master cylinder, and you will run into the proportioning valve. It will have a wire hooked to it. Disconnect this wire, and see if the light goes out. If it does, and the wire is not rubbing metal anywhere, then it's an indication you have a problem with your brakes, either the front or the rear.

There is a plunger in the middle of the proportioning valve. The front brake system is on one side of the plunger, and the rear system is on the other side. Any kind of pressure inbalance will move the plunger and make the light come on.

Your brakes are probably not working as good as you think, especially if you had to put fluid in the master cylinder.

Did you centralize the brake pressure differential valve?

You also may have a leak between the m/c and power booster.

If any of the wheel cylinders/calipers are moist/wet, replace it.

As a matter of fact, if you do find one that is leaking, I'd replace both, if not all of the cylinders and calipers.

It's cheap insurance.
