Today i got in my truck and was heading for school and i realized the heat wasnt working and only cold air was coming out. so i froze my butt off since it was 30 out. i wasnt real concerned about the heat but i realized that the truck didnt have its usual power/no where near it. so i kept goin and i took it easy..well it started making this chime sound kinda like when u put ur key in the ignition or you leave ur headlights on and its warning you, and also when i take off its louder then usually and the turbo makes a funny noise..kinda like melted blades or something. i skiped school and was gonna take it to the ford dealership, but i wanted to see if anyone had any idea what it could be before the dealership robs me. Also i have a superchip and i had it on High Pro, and i got the P0606 Internal Control mod KAM error, which i looked up and i saw it meant that the battery had been disconnected which i hadnt. Any ideas?
newsflash: i was just checkin it out and it seems that my coolant is almost GONE. i heard that the superchip is behind this and people have had similar problems but could this case what i mentioned above?
Having the equipment, and knowing how to use it, could be two different things...
I know, this doesn't help with your question, But why would someone drive around, (to school) in a high performance mode?
OK, no warm air through the heater. No coolant in the radiator? (or less than is required) What was the engine temperature while you were experiencing the poor run condition and sounds? Since you have a performance module installed, (or mode uploaded), I assume you have an EGT gauge? What was the pre-turbo EGT at that time?
It's 30 degrees out. You do not pre-warm your engine before driving?
I keep my truck loaded with the HP tune when not towing. 90% of the time I'm just going 4 miles to work and back.
Having the HP tune loaded doesn't mean that you're using the HP all the time. You, the driver are the ultimate controller of how much HP you use.
Another reason for driving in the HP tune mode is that when not putting your foot in it at every opportunity, you actually get better fuel mileage than stock
Well it was deff the coolant, i added a ton and it was fine. All my gauges were fine. I drive to school with the chip on High Performance because for some reason i get 1mpg better with it in high over economy. I had to warm it up for a minute because we had REAL heavy frost. The windshield was soild "ice". Besides you never know when your gonna see a ricer, and its always great to see their face when u destroy them.
