Thanks, I just bought an 85 f150 in Dallas, Tx. and it had all its emission stuff on it. It has been passing their test. I also have another f150 with emission stuff removed. I live in Ar. and we do not have emission testing now. I plan on keeping the emission stuff on the one truck but not the other and was just wondering if there is a time limit on older trucks for emission stuff. If you can give me a hint on where to research this I would appreciate it.

Here's a link that may help.
I couldn't find anything on smog laws for Arkansas.
I'd call your local DMV and ask if there's any smog laws, just in case.
Arkansas doesn't require any smog equipment or safely stickers on any vehical, although, you can still be ticketed with no rear lights, missing headlights, loud mufflers, loud music and bad tires, and cracked windshields...its a Natural State....theres plenty of trees to fall on you during windly days and deers and cows still can't look before running across the roads right before you hit them...the animals go free if you get a chance to run over one, but you'll get a ticket for leaving the roadway and reckless driveing.
Are you guys telling me that after 30 years that we will not need to have any of the smog or emission stuff on our trucks? If so is this a state or federal law? I have a 1985 truck.

Talk about a smog-free 4.9 items, just check out the "Canadian" version of the '80 motor. One vacuum line to the distributor advance and one to the A/C (if you have one of those newfangled contraptions ) that's it.
