Replace Clutch Fan with Electric ? ?
Have any of you dared to replace your stock cooling fan with electric?
I was thinking of the Flex-A-Lite Monster Electric Fans pulling 5500 CFM.
I know it's a bad idea with any kind of load, but I don't tow with my '03
Excursion 4x4. Supposed to have better low RPM cooling, and you don't need a fan at highway speed on the flats. Do you think the stock alternator is up to the AMP draw?
I see fan kits used on Lightnings with more HP than our 6.8L V-10. Not that we always use full HP of course.
Like the idea of shutting off the fans for water crossings and gaining a few HP and MPG.
Let me know your thoughts on converting from the stock set-up, Pro's and Con's
