older 460 into newer

Can I get any year 460, to swap out with my 1989 FI, and can I use my intake etc. to covert to the fuel inject on the older engine?

It seems that if the sensors all have holes to go into in the older block , it will work , the only problem I can think of is the camshaft not being designed ror computer operation . I could be wrong though, bob

All of the 460 EFI sensors go on the intake, so you can use any 460 block you like.

My 500 cid stroker is a late 70's block, with industrial heads and an EFI intake. Bolted together nicely.

The EFI intake needs to be used with EFI heads, and carb intake needs to be used with carb heads, as how they mate to each other is different.

I would get as close or newer 460 to that 89 as you can get.

No need to get a smogged over early 80s block and lose major power just from the engine build at the time.
