I have to do something to my truck soon. I want to add an exhaust first and think I have it narrowed down to 2 or 3 setups. My question is can I do the exhaust now and add chips and tuners later or should I do it all at the same time?
I want to do a 4" downpipe and 4" exhaust and of course a nice shiny tip. The exhaust alone will help with EGT's right? Then add gauges and tuners later. Let me know...
You can most certainly install the exhaust first. With a full 4 inch system, you may lose a little low end response before you tune the truck, but it will come back stronger than ever once programmed.
EGT's will fall noticeably. The 4 inch downpipe can be a slight pain, but once the firewall is properly ported you should have no problems.

Sounds like a good idea. I don't want to loose any power so I guess I will save up some money and do a package deal. Start with gauges first. What should I be looking for?
EGT - Turbo Boost and what else? I would like to mount it down by the mystery hook or above the rear view mirror. That way it does not draw attention to others (sneaky like) Thanks again for the input guys...
