Parts

guys, I am wondering if its ok for me to inquire about suggestions from you all on the value of some pickup parts that I intend to take to a local swap meet ? I have 1 3 spd transmission, and 1 4 spd T98. I just dont know what to ask for them. They appear to be in good shape. Also have a ford 9 " center section with 3:70 gear setup. Sure would appreciate some feedback. Thanks , Roy

Roy, I can't tell you what they are really worth, but I can tell you what I sold mine for I sold my T-98 that was, I believe, in pretty good shape (though something I wouldn't really want to run without a freshen-up) for $40. One that is complete and together and ready to drop into a daily driver should go for a bit more than that ($100 range?). I have seen them posted on e-bay for as much at $1000, but I'm thinking that price was a bit silly. As far as the 3 speed goes, unless it is something rare I would think it would go for a little bit less than the T-98 (assuming similar condition). I'm guessing that a reasonable price for the 9" center is somewhere in the $50-100, range assuming it is a stock center section w/o posi or anything fancy. Again these are just what I would probably price them at.

Thanks for the advise on the parts, what you say makes a lot of sense to me. I got the transmissions when I bought an engine from a guy in Nashville. Dont really know the condition of them. The center section came out of my 57. It was in good shape, just wanted different gear setup. Thanks again, it helped, Roy.
