Freeze plug preferences

I've seen two types of freeze plugs: the pound-in brass ones and the screw-tightend rubber ones.

Is one better than the other or is it just a matter of "ease of installation"?

I need to get a set today and wanted some opinions before I do.

I have always been a fan of the brass plugs, but then I have only used them on stock or mildly modified engines.

Freeze plug preferences

I think most of the plugs are steel which is good, or brass which is better or screw in brass which is better yet but requires threading the block. The rubber guys are only good for a temporay repair in my opinion.
