steering wheel lock problem
Anybody know how to fix the steering wheel lockout? When you remove the key from the ignition, the steering wheel should lock out, locking the front wheels in place. Mine doesn't do this, and I don't know what I should be looking for when I tear into the steering column. Any help would be appreciated.

Hers how its done.
REMOVAL 1st and mosy importantly disconnect your negative and positive battery cables and wait two minutes to proceed. 2nd turn your ignition key/lock cylinder to the run position. 3 Insert an 1/8 inch punch into the hole at the bottom of the steering column cover surrounding the lock cylinder. Then depress the punch while pulling out on the lock cylinder to remove it from the steering column housing.INSTALLATION 4 depress the retaining pin pin on the side of the lock cylinder and rotate the ignitionkey/lock cylinder to the run position.5 Install the lock cylinder into the steering column housing, making sure it's fully seated and aligned in the interlocking washer.6 rotate the key back to the off position. This will allow the retaining pin to extend itself back into the locating hole in the steering column housing. 7 Turn the lock to esnure that operation is correct in all positions. The remainder of installation is the reverse of removal.Hers a pic to help you out also. Good luck
