Hello and thanks to all for the help. Here's the update and the fix on my problem. The problem was a loose spark pug and a bad spark plug wire. the wire was pretty cooked. The blinking "check engine" light did mean that there was a problem with the plug(s). Thanks Bulldog3531 for that piece of info.
Apparently the darn thing was grounding like crazy and I didn't know it. I've had a ticking sound for some time, which I thought were the lifters. I thought I might be low on oil. But it was the plug grounding. I wasn't at home at the time but my dad got a head start before I got home. Anyway, he was about to make sure that the wires were seated on the plugs, when he got zapped. He grabbed a wooden stick and proceeded to move an aluminum looking heat shield out of the way and the ticking minimized; but he could see the spark plug grounding. Well we tightened the plugs and changed all the wires and it's a done deal. Thanks again too all that made suggestions.
Still wonder what the codes were. I bet cylinder ID lost. Make sure now that you have fixed a major issue like this that you disconnect the battery for 10 min's to clear out codes and more importantly to zero out all the ocrrection factors that now don't have to be there. You should notice an immediate increase in performanc/drivability when the PCM doesn't try to fix a problem that is no longer there. Anyway, intersting hands on - ouch I got zapped - approach at troubleshooting.
