One thing I'm learning from this thread, Old Ford truck owners liked to drink in their trucks!

When I tore into my '51, I found my sanity. (or was that when I lost it???)

Aside from the typical rust piles and rats nests, my truck had a hidden switch under the dash, that was a cut off for the brake lights. It came from down in Tennesee somewhere...smells like my truck was suppling the Ford Truck owners. Moonshiine anyone?

in the 55effie i was lucky enough to find the original registration that led me to talk to the owners son .seems the father was the owner but he has since passed away . the son was interested in seeing the truck being fixed up again because he went with his dad to the dealership to buy it . he did wonder how it made it all the way to vermont state when he lives in south dakota , boy if these old trucks could only talk . just a side note most of the guys that built these at the factory are most likely passed away along with most of the first owners .in all likelyhood most of these old trucks will probably still out last most of us if we take good care of them . just my thoughts have a good one .

Finding Some Dope's dope

I had the same experience with an old Mercury Comet I bought, for basic transportation. I found the baggy of Mary Jane whilst following the radio to speaker wires. What made it scary was that I was living in Tijuana, and had been crossing the border every morning to go to the Navy base to the ship I was assigned to........woulda been ugly if the Customs people at the border, or the Marines at the Main Gate woulda found it!!!

(it probably wouldnt hurt me to find those today).first thing i remember finding was a old 8 track tape i thought i had struck gold at the time. its all part of the fun!

Registration papers, family snapshots, unopened mail, packrat nest, .22 shells, broadheads, etc.

In the last one a bunch of knives for a sickle-bar mower and some chainsaw files all rusted in a clump inside the cab corner.

Well,

What I found in mines was some old nuts and bolts, sponges in the cab corners and a lot spiders waiting to say hi to their new home owner....

Church keys were what we (at least around here) called bottle openers, the type used to open a bottle of beer! (before twist tops)

Gee--and I thought they were actual church keys! I didn't even stop to question!
