what seems to be the opinion from the site on which is the better tuner superchips or diablo? I have a 2006 f-350 psd lariat crew short bed 5 speed automatic. The truck is very fast stock. Just curious thanks
You asked for "the" opinion. You're going to get more than you bargained for. There are many posts on this subject on this site. From what I have learned, superchips has really good customer service, and you can actually talk to someone if you have a problem. The Diablo does have download capability for upgrades, but I have read more than once customer service is not the greatest from the manufacturer. If you do buy, try to buy from a FTE sponsor. I'm sure they will give you any information you ask for, and possibly an opinion or two along the way.
Mines the best. It spins the tires, blows smoke, and shifts hard. Customer service? Haven't needed that , the product worked the way it should. Buy whatever you want, they all do pretty much the same thing, although some here think theres are magically better.

There are some very distinct differences in the tuners.
Load in a predator and drive it, then load in the superchips and drive it.
Shamrock, I am partial to Bully Dog Triple Dog. Here's why. It is a true program on the fly, so you can change your performance level on the fly. It is internet upgradeable, no more mail chasing for upgrades. Also, it can be switched to a new vehicle if you change brands or year, just take it back to stock and move it to the new vehicle. Most programmers are all about high performance, this one gives you a tow mode that really works sweet. Also they have a try it before you buy deal. I agree about the buy it from a site sponsor, most of them are very knowledgeable and do it for a living.
I don't believe that the statement that most tuners are all about high performance is true. In diesel trucks, the focus of many of the tuners is on safe performance gains for towing and better driveability and fuel economy.

By the way.
Try before you by makes permanent changes which are detectable.
They write their own script to make the program expire after a few days, and it remains in the stock program indefinitely.
I am not impressed with bullydogs flash tuning or inline devices, other than the monitor.

I didn't even see your thread on this matter, but you are right.
What they are doing is careless and stupid.
The bottom line is, even after the trial program expires, and afterwards you buy their tuner and set it back to "stock" there are changes in the PCM that are PERMANENT.
For all of you warranty-paranoid people, Bullydog is not the right choice.
Yes, at one time I did work for superchips....but you don't see me telling you diablo is corrupting your VID block......
I'm not partial to their tuning style, but at least they set the truck back to STOCK.
It's not that I'm picking on Bullydog......I'm picking on the procedures they are using to flash the vehicle. If anyone else did the same, I'b be loud and clear about my issues with them, too.
I am out of the tuning business, so this post has nothing to do with self promotion.
Let it be a warning to the warranty conscious...

I gave up in that thread.
The funny part is, is that some of the corruption is left intentionally, to make sure you don't load it again.
The best tuner is the Edge Evolution, lots of features and allows you to tuen the trans as you see fit based on your use and such. The best module is the Edge Platinum Juice and Attitude, full set of gauges EGT defueling, trans controls and power changes on the fly plus a turbo timer etc.
Opinions are supposed to be subjective and thats what shamrock asked for. At least he didn't say "x" brand sucks and is a pos like some other very one sided forums do. Some of these other forums seem to just promote one product and slam all others. Very easy to see through.
