Tranny problem

My 97 f150 seems to downshift or drop out of gear at highway speed. The tach will raise about 500 rpm & drop back.It only does it for a second & will drive ok for 100 miles or more before it happens again. Its only done it a few times. Is there a switch or relay on this tranny that could cause this? It pulls great & shifts right. It just had the fluid & filter changed with the tq converter drained. Its not showing any codes & the OD light isn't flashing.

I need to add that my tranny was pulled at the time it was serviced. I had the flywheel replaced due to the teeth being bad. I was hoping a wire might be loose or a relay or switch might be going out. Its only done this about 6 times in 2000 miles. Any ideas would be appreciated

It's the Transmission Range Sensor (TRS.) It's on the driver's side of the transmission, where the shifter cable attaches. The TRS is the black plastic part with the wiring attached. As the TRS starts to die it causes the exact problem you're getting.
