The 2005 model trucks have significantly lowered stock boost tables.
Despite what the module manufactures like to make you believe, the fuel modules DO NOT MANIPULATE boost by any other means than extra fuel and timing. The boost can be adjusted quite drastically with the VGT- a function which no present fuel boxes (and only one tuner, from one particular vendor) properly manipulates.
alright the main thing that is getting me i had the regular edge isntalle don it orginally and i had a lot more power than i do now.. like in extreme i did the 1/4 mile thing and i was like 16.9 which isnt very quick ... and 0 -60 was like 9.3 seconds
The worst I have gotten with my 05 psd which is a crew cab, lb, 4x4 is 12.9 going over the rockies with a light load. That is when it had 5 or 7 thousand miles on it. I went on a trip to middle KY running 80 -85 and averaged 19.4. It seems to me the more miles I put on the truck the better it gets. It has 18,480 on it now and is 10 1/2 months old. Not one problem with it. Just put a K&N filter charger on it two weeks ago. I will be putting dual exhaust on next. Will post again when I run 2-4 tanks thru it. The Fordman rides again!!
Never argue with an idiot. He'll just drag you down to his level and beat you with experience!
I would say your mileage is pretty bad. Is this from your trip computer or hand figured? The computers are notoriously wrong. I have and '05 F250 Harley edition with 36/14.50's on it and I average about 14mpg or so. Pretty disapointed especially with the price of diesel now and after owning a 7.3 that was getting 18 - 20 mpg. It may get bad fuel mileage but dang, it sure does look good!
After using a 76 F150 long bed 4x4 for all my heavy hauling. Which was a 390 4V, 4spd, 4.56 gears, 35" MT sidebiters, etc. etc. I was getting 6 or 7 mpg max. So anything over 10-15 mpg in my book is excellant. Thanks
