Front end question

A friend of mine has a 54 F100 with original front end with disc brake conversion and a GM power steering box. He just bought a MII front end and is going to try and sell the original. I was wondering if that front end would bolt up to my 48 F!
I would like to add power bakes and steering to mine and i thought this might be a less expensive way to go.

I do believe that the 54 is a couple of inches wider, both at the track center and the springs.
