98 ranger dash lights

ok hears my problem i have a 98 ranger 4 wheel drive first the blinkers would stick on and clashe when they wanted too that stoped but now my dash lights only come on and flash when i turn on the turn singlnal every light even the 4x4 lights do it all except the airbag light witch stays on all the time any body have this problem or know how to fix it

Do the illumination lights do the flashing thing or is it only the warning type lights in the dash.

I would suspect a printed circuit problem. You may end up buying a cluster on ebay to replace it and fix the problem. I would go to an auto electric shop first and see what they think. If it's gonna cost $200 to fix the roblem but it's onlt $75 for another cluster that might even by out of a newer truck it's a no brainer. Also if you dont have a tach, it's a good excuse to upgrade to one.

thats what i was afriad of hearing cause if it was a short it wouldnt be all the lights it would only be the illuminate ones or just the waringing ones i think it started in the turn signal i heard it making a buzzing sound before but never thought anything of it
