they will probably re-use the same transmission in the 2007 models, and extricate that extra gear and call it a 6-speed. the torqshift only uses 5 gears ALL THE TIME, therefore it is a 5 speed, and only a 6- speed on deceleration if ia can remember correctly
I have to find the thread - but I believe it has 2 4th gears - that differ slightly in ratio.
Depending on whether the trans is cold or not, depends on which 4th gear is used.

When cold, instead of using the direct drive clutch (the weakest of the clutch packs) for 4th gear, it utilizes the intermediate and overdrive clutches to obtain the1.090 drive ratio mentioned in the link(instead of a 1.000) to reduce wear on the direct drive pack. If you'll notice even when warm, the 3-5 upshift is certainly the sloppiest- thanks to both the smallest clutch pack, and an inversely proportional shift solenoid.
