Alright now, i got the exhaust setup i want, Mello-Tone muffler si/do, 2 1/4 pipe brought out behind the rear wheels. i think im gonna go with a 3 1/2 in. circ. and a believe either 12' or 18' long i dont remember slant cut on the tip. what do yall think? any suggestions?....originally i wanted a flowmaster or magnaflow muffler but i have had 3 different exhaust shops to tell me to go with this Mello-Tone muffler, i have never heard of them but they said its the best a 6 will sound, they siad that the FM makes a 6 sound like a 6, so i think im gonna take the pros word. they also said that the mello-tone has a lifetime warrenty on it, so i figure must be a good built muffler, help me out here guys let me know what yall think about the tips and muffler.
Interesting, never heard of "mello tone" but upon doing a quick google search, many have brought that brand up. IMO, a single in/dual out usually sounds nice on the old six, my question, what does the "mello tone" have design wise, that the others don't?
FWIW, larger diameter / longer tips deepen the tone.
Sounds like you have a plan, post up a video or soundclip when your done.
Good luck
On a side note, I read a few posts on the use of these mufflers, the phrase "sounds like a flowmaster 40 but cheaper" came up alot. Luckily your doing a single in dual out which is a little different sound than single or dual. The phrase "well made" and "made better than flowmaster" came up alot too. Good luck

Go to your favorite search engine, I use www.google.com, punch in mello tone and you will get all kinds of results/posts where someone has used this muffler and is throwing out their two cents.
