Strange Transmission Issue
I had my 1979 F-150 4x4's transmission was rebuilt 2 years ago and it has started shifting abnornally. If I cap off the modulator, and vacuum line, I am able to start out in low and shift thru the gears without issue, at higher RPM's of course. With the modulator and vacuum line to the manifold reconnected, I have to raise the rpm's extremely high to get the transmission to engage in either D-L2-L1. Reverse works fine in either configuration.
Does this sound like a simple repair or am I looking at a transmission swap? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
