Exclamation 97' lift question

Hey Everyone,

97 f350 supercrew, 4in suspension lift.

So now that i have had to purchase a new kidney belt, due to the slightly rough ride from my superduty, i'm finally going to break down and install a reverse shackle kit. The way i understand it is that the kit will give me a 2 1/2 to 3 in lift. so i am going to have to do something with the springs. now comes the fun part.......

1 technician A says to have the current springs dearched.

2 technician B says just take out a leaf from the current springs.

3 technician c says buy stock springs and add an add a leaf.

4 technician d says buy 2in lift springs.

HELP!!!!!!!!! has anyone done this mod?? I think these 4 techs were drinking when they got together on this. any ideas or thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Roger

From what you are talking about, I would jsut get a 2.5 inch leveling kit with the new springs and be donw with it. A Superlift setup will cost you around 250 - 300 dollars and will ride much nicer than the stock springs.

The shackle flip is a little more involved than just swaping parts and usually involves moving the shackle mount forward a few inches to get the shackle at the right angle.

I would go with tech 4's advice and do the lift springs. That would be the least intrusive and easier install.
