Auto trans fluid changeout
Hi, i just bought a 2002 PSD crewcab F-350 lariat. Never owned a deisel before. I am looking at my service manual and it says to drain and flush the auto trans fluid. It was done according to the scedule before i owned it according to all the maint. records i recieved with it. It now has 90k on it. So the one dealer wants (170$) to "flush it and refill with new filter. The other dealer only changes filter and refills (130 bucks) because they dont have the machine to flush it out. SO is the flushing really that important not? I do tow with this truck and that is the reason I went to a PSD from a gasser. Im sure it needs to be done just not sure if i should save myself the 40 bucks or not thanks Jeff

Just changing the filter and half of the fluid isn't good. What about the other half of the fluid that they are not changing?
