You may want to run the engine around till the timing mark on the crankshaft lines up with 0. Then take the dist cap off, and see if the rotor is pointing to #1 cylinder sparkplug wire. If it isn't, run the engine around exactly one more turn and see if it points to #1 sparkplug wire. If it doesn't, your timing chain may have jumped some teeth.
