father/son
right of the top i just learned i went against one of your primary instrsuctions about the use of the letter m about the 351.
please forgive me. i read your foroum rules after the fact.
but honest injun Mr Meyers, i think i know what my son and i own. no offense to others here, sir. i mean that.
we would like to tap your brain for advice on the first motor that i will build WITH my young son.
my proper given first name is paul, i cannot and will not give forth my son,s name only because he is underage.
for the record i am 51, he is under 18.
we have a REASONABLE background in mechanics.
we are looking for advice/and or specific help with the ford 351/midland/ie modified henry ford engine motor that my son and i have agreed to accept the challenge and build period. we are fully aware of the 460 position and quite frankly sir we are deaf. we are intent on our 351-midland despite
the cr issues period.
to close,
may we call you bill.
thank you moderator
father/son.
my use of the M instead of your proper name is my fault Mr Beyer,
i am sorry period.
i had the dreaded letter M on my worn out brain when i posted.
no disrespect intended, we really would enjoy talking to you.
father/son
I appreciate you reading the Guidelines post at the top of this forum. It is perfectly acceptable to tag the M at the end of 351M since that's how Ford referred to it. The only "out of bounds" portion of the discussion would be exactly what "M" means because after having moderated this forum for several years I can tell you with certainty:
1. No one has been able to come up with a legitimate factory source from the 70s which defines what M means.
2. It will be argued until everyone is blue in the face and it won't be resolved. The only thing that will happen is one or more of us will start making ugly attacks on someone else.
Finally, utilizing the Search feature for this forum will provide you with answers to many of the questions you have. Chances are most of the basic questions have been asked at least once. If you still have questions or weren't able to find exactly what you're looking for then please post to the board and I'm sure that someone will be able to help.
