I am trying to replace my heater core in my 1974 Ford F-100. I have ran into a problem I can not find the nuts that hold on the cover to protect the crap that is under there. There are poprivits around the cover. I was wondering if I have to drill them out inorder to take the cover off to git to the heater core. I would like to know soon as possable because I am working on it right now. I just heard there was bolts holding the cover on but I can not find them at all.
Wish I could remember on the 74 F-100 - some fords had a cover that you could remove and slide out the heater core - after you removed the glove compartment. It was a breeze to change the heater core. Like I sad I can't remember if it applied to the 74 F-100. I do recall that most that replaced the heater cores on the F series replaced them with a high output heater core - I think there was a plastic part that needed to be cut or modified to allow the larger core. Sorry I can't say for sure.
