Depends on the vehicle and the engine. There can be a lot of difference. Small car, van, pick up, front wheel drive, rear wheel drive, diesel. What one are you talking about? Are you talking dealer or repair shop?

If you have a helper and don't have anymore than two six packs of beer between you, you could have it out and replaced on a Saturday. I would have new main seals in it and a new oil pump. If it is a stick, check the clutch. A dealer probably will not touch it. A repair shop will tell you two days.
