v8 conversion

I know there is an article out there somewhere that goes over putting a v8 motor in a 60's econoline van. I wans wondering if anyone had it saved in a pdf file or something. I am considering doing something that has never been done on these vans, but it starts with a v8 conversion and for my research I need this old article. If anyone has a link or something let me know. Thanks

Brett

I got some articles copied in my computer from some late 60's car craft mags about v8 swaps. I do not know how to post them here on the thread, but you can e-mail me through my profile and we can arrange to send them to you also.

a 4.6 is a mighty wide power plant. to make it fit you will have to do a lot of fab work to the floor and motor box. not to mention the electrical system.

Electricals I am not worried about, I will have the entire wiring harness. My main concern is the size of the motor. I have been trying to find the physical specs on the 4.6 but haven't had a whole lot of luck.

You might want a setup that is in my 62 Econoline truck that I just bought. It has a dog house out of a Early model Chevy van. It is wide and high. The seats bolt to the dog house also. There is alot of room in side of it. I just wish when the guy put in the 302 he would have have used the Pipe cross member like in the later model. The motor sits close on the left side. have to change plugs from underneath.

ask, and yee shall recieve. the 4.6 is 33-34 inches wide at the valve covers, and 32 inches long on top of the motor from back of block to alternator pulley. i could not get a good height on it.
