I have a 70 F250 camper special that had the huge step bumper. This was so bent up and mangled, I took it off. I replaced it with a little bumper I got at the boneyard off another 70. It is made of diamond plate, painted black, and has stamped on it "Courtesy Ford" on one side and "Garland, Texas" on the other. I've seen these bumpers before, occasionally, with different cities on them. Anyone have any info on these? My thought was that the local dealer would give you one of these for when you took your camper off, and didn't want to drive around with the huge step bumper sticking way out.

Probably a dealer installed bumper installed by the dealership as an advertising gimmick. They were probably cheaper than the regular Ford item as the pickups originally came with no bumpers specced except as an option.
