79 supercab headers
bought headman headers for my f250 4x4 supercab. I have a 400 in the truck. The headers bolt up fine but the cross member is blocking the exhaust pipe from mounting up. Called summit back and they said they could send me headers for a lowboy. What is a lowboy I asked? he didnt know!!! Anyone ran into this problem? I need headers that have shorter tubes.

if the headders you bought for your truck were for a 79 f250, they should be the right ones.67 -early 77 f250 4x4 trucks are named "highboys".this is because the frames are different than late 77-79 model f250 4x4s,(among other differences,divorced t case,2 1/2 rear springs,narrower rear frame section,)this is why you must specify the year,model,engine family, transmission,when ordering headders.-billy

the truck had headers on it, but were rusted out. Those headers were slightly shorter, above the cross beam for the c-6. The old pipes are laying on the cross beam. Shipping them back was a pain! I'm going to our local oreilly's and pay a little more for less hassle. I'll try hooker this time. The headman headers were cut sloppy.
