hey there guys, im currently working on my 79 f250, its has a 351m that im planning on rebuilding into a 400. i've got the truck down to the frame, which ive sanded and painted. it has a rear dana 60 and front dana hd44. heres the thing, there is a guy in my town who is selling a 77 f250 highboy for $600. id like to buy it as a parts truck. i need a bed for my truck so i know i can get that out of it. the 77 has a 460 with headers and other bolt ons which i would love to drop into my 79. will i be able to use the motor mounts, headers, on my 79? will it be a direct swap in or will i have to buy a different swap kit to get the 460 into my 79 f250? also i dont think i will me able to, but could i use the high boys suspension on my truck? i think the leafs are different widths. not sure. please help guys!!
thanx
gabriel
The bolt holes in the bed won't line up as the rear frame of the highboy is narrower. You can drill new holes and it will work. The motor should swap and you can use the front springs but not the rear.
