Ahhh!!

ok so all of a suddn driven today i go to give it gass and nothing happens . so i stop at a stop light give it half pedel and it had ****ed into first and wasnt moving. for about 5 secounds the truck had slowly started rolling and then started to pick up speed. I brought it to a automatic transmision shop and they say its engine performance related. i bring it to a friend of myn who is a ford master tec and he wasnt to sure but he didnt do any test's but drive it. now when i dont exceed half gas it dosnt do the symptom. he sort of thought it could be the first cat that could have sort of come apart and cloged up with the honey combs because u could hear them rattling when in park with gas. now when in park with gas it has no problem gaining rpms. in drive reverse and manual shift it has the symptom of not gaining rpms and not moving up to speed. could it be my torque converter? or something else im not really sure. my transmison oil level is good.

ps no check engine light
no flickering overdrive light

what year, motor, tranny are we talking about here. put this info into your sig so we dont have to ask ya anymore.

now could be a fuel issue, like bad pump or clogged filter. if your cat is clogged easiest way to check is disconnect the Y pipe from the manifolds and drive it around your house and if its improves there is your problem. also when was it tuned up last with plugs, cap, rotor and plugwires. scan the ecu for codes if its efi , it can be done easy with a paper clip go here www.fordfuelinjection.com to learn how. also check your tranny fluid level while the motor is running if it smells like rotten eggs then your tranny is toast

Pull the codes from the computer. This will give you a place to start looking. Anything that has the engine dying on you will generate an error code.
