79 Bronco front end

Could anyone tell me what the stock front end options were in a 79 Bronco. Did any of them come with Dana 60's? Were they coil or leaf sprung setups? Excuse my ignorance I know F series trucks but not much about broncos. I tried searching but couldnt find any answers.
Thanks

the 79 Bronco will be the same as the F150 except for the front axle is weaker near the knuckles than the F150. So it will be coil sprung with trailing arms and a solid axle D44. Why do you ask?

why would the d44 be different between a bronco/f150 . they both use the exact same setup.

check out this site and you'll see. This guy has done extensive research on this for SAS swaps.

DUH, I just reread it and it is the 78-79 F100 F150 and Bronco. I was tired the night I was doing research.

Thanks for the quick responses guys. I was just curious because a friend of mine is getting a 79 bronco to part out for his truck. He was under the impression that the front end was a dana 60. That didnt sound right to me so I figured that I'd ask the experts.

but its not stock unless it is a conversion from centurion and then its not a Bronco anymore it would be an F350 with a Bronco rearend grafted on. All F150's and Broncos came with the Dana 44 front end from the factory.

You are correct...I swapped in a D60 front and a Sterling rear...I run leaves though instead of coils. Much easier to swap in and cost less to do.

What year is your friends truck? Either way everything is the same on the bronco as on the F-100/150 except for the rear quarter panels and the top.

Stock D44 3.50 gears front(coil springs) / Ford 9" 3.50 gears rear(leaf sprung)
NP203(full time) or 205(part time)t case.
Came with only a 351M or 400.
Basically all the same, but some different options.

While we're on the subject do the 78-79 Bronco's come with 28 or 31 spline 9"s? I was just guessing they would have 28 spline but it would be cool if they had a 31 spline axle.
