I have an 86 F250 4x4 with a 460. 4spd and a 3.54 Front and 3.55 REAR axle.
The rear axle need to be replaced, I have a 3.54 rear axle from a 84 F250 4x4. It came witrh a 460 C6 auto.
Am I going to run into ratio problems using matched axles? I don't think so. but I was surprised to see a 3.55 ratio there originally?
Is it because of the auto trans vs. 4 spd difference?
Want to know before I proceed with a swap out.....

My old 71 highboy hade a 4.10 rear and 4.11 front.
