Is This Normal?

I just got my 2006 F-350. It's been 300 miles and I was looking at the tires and I noticed that on the side wall there is an indent on all 4 tires. Is this normal? Should I have the dealer replace the tires?

I've seen that B4 sounds like it should be ok. Wouldn't hurt to check with your dealer though. Every brand is different.

Generals and Contis both seem to "do that"... it's a bit disconcerting, especially when the truck is loaded and each tire is handling 2500lbs+ at 70MPH, but the dealer says it's normal.

Personally, I'm crossing my fingers that a real tire manufacturer comes out with decent tires for these new trucks, ASAP.

Agreed...
Mine all have it too and I have 49k on them (stock Firestone).
Our Escape has them too, 10k on it's Conti's.
Bet'cha go to the dealer lot and you'll find lots of dimples.

It's normal. What you see is the ply splice - the spot where they splice the fabric tire plys together. Some brands seem to be more visible than others, but is doesn't affect the performance of the tire.
