Son came home last night...clutch pedal had dropped to the floor..thought the linkgage had come off (it had). We reinstalled the rod, but the clutch still didn't work..the clutch arm moves in and out, but the clutch will not disengage engine from transmission....
You best guess? Is it the pressure plate or the throwout bearing? He did tell me that he got on it really hard just before it quit working...if that helps.
If we need a clutch..is that year specific or will a variety of clutches/plates fit the 352 F250?
Forgot to add..the adjuster rod is now bent...I tried pusing the clutch arm back with a pry bar while he tried to start it...still stayed engaged...leads me to belive it is not the adjuster?
Looks like from what a friend told him after lookin at it is that the springs holding the throw-out bearing came off..so it wasn't connect to the fork..sound reasonable??
My 2 cents. Gonna be hard to just reach up there. When eveything is in place it should not just "pop" out. Dropping the tranny is not as bad as it may seem. Drop the drive shaft, remove tranny bolts, pull trans out and remove bellhousing. Maybe an hour to do all this. There should not be a reason to remove the clutch, unless you want to replace it while you are that far along. Better safe than sorry, something happened if it popped off.
