89 F250 Hard Starting Problems
Hi, I have an 89 F250 5.8. Everyday when i first go to start the truck it takes 2 or 3 tries to start, if I give it gas it sputters, but if I let it sit for a minute its fine, Then i could shut it off and start it back up with no problem. If anyone has any ideas it would be helpful. Thanks

First thing to do is pull the codes...Go to www.fordfuelinjection.comand it will explain how to pull them and what the codes meen..

Try this. Turn the key to the run position and listen for the fuel pump. It will run for a couple(2-4sec.) and stop. turn the key off then turn it back to run and listen for the pump to cycle again. when it stops, go ahead and turn the key the rest of the way and see if it starts. Good luck.

Well Im looking into buying the truck I was trying to figure out if this could be a major problem. The guy thats selling it owned it for 4 years and he has never done a tune up on it. The tune up was my first idea, i was just seeing if there were any other major possibilities. I will look into getting the codes, and also try waiting a couple seconds before starting. I wont see it again till next week. So if you know of any obvious problems that it could be let me know. Thanks for the ideas
