Supposed to be leaving on the elk hunt tomorow night and my truck is stuck in four wheel drive. I know this topic has been posted many times but I need help with my situation. Last week on the deer hunt, I used my four wheel drive on some rough roads and it worked fine. I took it out and later tried to put it back in and it would'nt go. Today I was checking it out before my next trip and it went in but wont come out. The light doesnt' come on niether. I have checked the vaccum lines and everything seems to be connected. Is it possible it could be a fuse problem? If so, wich fuse is it?(no manual). There is suction when I disconnect the vaccum lines so I think that is working properly. What else should I check. Any help is worth more than you know.
when you turn the **** on the dash, do you hear a meshing sound, somewhere near the transfer case? there should be a servo with an arm on it that moves the selector in and out of positions. i would look at the fuse, but i dont have a manual either.
Test light?...Uh guys isnt there a possibility the hub is damaged or the prob is in the hub. I dont have 4wd but I retain a little info...just throwin out ideas
I would first make sure the fuse isn't blown and the connection is good at the transfer case shift motor. Then I would drive it around in 4 high for a few minutes then swith it back off. Mine stuck in 4 low once, and all I had to do was drive around in 4 high then switch it back off while driving. If that doesn't fix it then I would test your shift motor to see if its gone out, then look into other mechanical problems like the hubs.
