Will a tuner make that much of a difference in RPM's. 2001 F250- 373's with auto tranny. Right now I'm at about 2 grand.
Also, just wondering if the programmers and turning up your power is hard on the auto tranny?
Thanks
Steve
Just curious how a tuner lowered the RPM. Its not changing anything mechinal! The only thing I can think is that the converter was slipping until installing the SCMT. It should have nothing to do with you RPMs vs Speed unless you reporgramed for larger tires???? Something there doesn't add up!

Couldn't have said it better myself. A tuner will only improve performance per range of RPM/Speed. If a known RPM at speed is constant per specific vehicle and then there is a change with no mechanical changes you can bet something has gone sour. ie converter.
mtgrzlyman. Good choice going to 4.30s, this will put you at or near the same rpm you had with stock tires on 3.73s.
