I have an F250 4X4 super cab with a 5.4 liter and was wondering what is the biggest mud tire that will fit on my truck without giving it a lift. It appears that it is already lifted from the factory.
Look in my gallery. I ran 305 / 70 / 16 GY MTR's for about a year before I lifted it. They rubbed "slightly" on the inner fender liners at full lock and hitting a good bump.
295/75/16's fit well and haven't heard guys complain of any rubbing issues with that size. The 295's are actually slightly taller, but about 1/2 narrower than the 305's. The 295's are okay on stock rims too.
the 2'' lift from factory is probably the difference between a f-250 and f-350. the only difference in the rear is that the 350 has a 4'' block and the 250 has a 2'' block. slap on a leveling kit and a 4'' block set, and it is practically a 2'' lift for an f-250. i have an f-350, so i already had a 4'' block in the rear. all i needed was a leveling kit, and the manufacturers say that a 35'' tire will fit with only a 2'' leveling kit. i say they are crazy, some major rubbing will be going on. i am going to get LT325/60/r18 tires here soon for my truck, and they measure 33.6''. should look great on the way my rig sits.
Don't count on it. If you have the plow springs, you MAY be able to squeeze them. I have an '04 too and 315's would not have fit. The 305's were a tight squeeze and even on those you have to have the correct backspacing on your rims or you will be trimming the front bumper.
If you want to stay on the safe side, don't do bigger than 305/70/16 with at least a leveling kit. If you plan to wheel it alot, I would get the 295 / 75 / 16's.
The biggest tires in production today (that I know about) are the 59/80-63. The manufacturers could be developing larger but they haven't told anyone about it yet.
No they won't fit on a stock SD, and yes that's a 63 inch rim!
I have 315's on my 04 and they rub at full lock but only when in a bind I have them mounted on factory 6" and MT 8". The 10" rims you have may rub more with 315's.
