the old 93

I have a 93 xlt f150 4x4 5.8l. anyway, i have a new 250 so the 150 is upo for bid. 2 questions
1. I need the pot metal part of the shift linkage for the trasfer case where would be the best place to find one?

2. I'm only asking $2900 for the truck not a boat load of interest (those that call always ask "whats it get for gas mileage?" this aint no VW rabbit!). Would I be better off parting it out maybe??

It's only worth it to part it out if the truck has serious problems - body rot, bent frame, bad motor/tranny, etc. It's almost always better to sell it whole if it's half-decent.

Whoever's asking about gas mileage shouldn't be in the market for a truck.

I am sorry, I saw the comment by Andym I agree with him %110 is they are asking Gas milage, they don't need a truck, go buy a four banger, and leave the big toys to the men. I thought it was funny...

But selling as whole will get you so much more, and less of a hard ache. Have you checked all your local part stores? And if no help, might want to check LMC, they have always done me good for parts like that.

you would problly be best off at a junk yard for the part. unless the truck is a loss, and by the sound of the price its not, then your better off selling it whole. do you got any pics of it?

Thanks for the replies. Tried my local junk yard they do not save the linkages. I'll check LMC (thanks for the tip).
Chrono4 I do have pics. ITs been a good truck and just spent a bunch of $ fixing everything I knew was wrong then some guy tried it out last night and somehow my trasfer case linkage got broke. No way to prove it was him but i had never ever had a problem with it in the past.

no i was not with him. I had my 2 yo daughter and no car seat (and no room, which is the reason I now have a crew cab). You are probably right though that it is pot, didn't take a very close look at it because it was dark. I did get it back in 2 WD from under the truck afterwards, went in no prob so I think you are right that he tried to force it while in gear. This is def. settin back my ability to sell though...and I need the $$.
