Can anyone offer advise as to how the milage memory is held on an F150, this is a 2004 xlt with a 4.6, the display is only a basic unit not the full package as in a Lariat, there is part of one digit missing when displaying the mileage numbers, if I change the head unit (buy a new one) will it correct this and go back to 000000 no mileage showing. Or will it correct it but display the correct mileage the vehicle has covered ?

 

the new unit will be sent with whatever mileage you give them, but you cannot just swap them, they must be programmed at your dealer so you wont be able to remove much for mileage
