03 excursion parts help

Guys, im looking at getting a diesel ex for my daily ride and tow rig. Im have a seriouse problem with always wanting more power. I have a few question and would like to hear what you all think.

1) Any reason to get the 6.0 vs the 7.3 for a daily drive. I dont care about resale value. at the same time if one motor is better than the other i would rather spend the extra money to get the 6.0 if that is the case.

2) I plan on towing with this ex so the aftermarket products need to still let me be able to tow a long distance. Not just a 1/4 mile or tractor pull. The total weight is not a lot for a diesel, probably 6500-7000 lbs.

3) Why is it that most tuners dont have anything listed for the EX. is that because they are the same as the 250-550 and they assume we know that or is there a difference.

4) what hp / tq can i expect with all good parts. I dont care to do a chip/ programmer, exhaust, down pipe, all gauges, intake, and would even consider porpane or nitrous and a larger intercooler. I am aware that the trans will probably die on me at some point. I just dont want to sling rods at people .

So, let the ideas go, I have looked at banks and bullydog along with ATS and a few others. like i said earlier not a lot of bragging rights out there on excursions.

Also vehicle will be a 4x4 if that matters. Would like to go with a 03 up.

Welcome to Ford Truck Enthusiasts Kerr.

If you get an 03 look for a 7.3, the early 6.0's had lots of little problems. Anything after that will be a 6.0

All the mods you mention will improve it's towing abilities.

Pretty much all the chip/programmers for the Superduty also work in Excursions. Don't know why they don't get a seperate listing....they should. Like you said, not everybody knows they are the same truck.

I'll move this to the Excursion forum for some specific replys.
