Hey AMULE!
"I did a cab swap on a 78 250 fwd.I went from an
extended cab to a standard cab so some of the problems I
had won't pertain to you.If you don't have a garage with
at least a ten foot ceiling plan on working outside."
I am trying to make a Supercab out of a std cab. Where did you lose the 22"? Did the frame width match at that point? Or do you just have a 155" wheelbase std cab?
"
Sorry for the delay in response but its
been awhile since my kids let me near the computer.
What I have is regular cab 155 inch wheelbase.I
really needed the chassis length for the 11'6"
platform dump bed I put on it.If you try to
put an extended cab on a standard chassis you
are in for a lot of work. The extended cab frame
is dropped down the extra 22 inches to accomedate
floor behind the main seat. The frame flares out
just ahead of where the bed bolts on.By the way
the extended cab frame has thicker metal in the
frame rails and a slightly taller section. The
extended cab also used outboard rear mounts
for the rear of the cab.Hope t6his info helps.
If you have any additional questions I'll be
happy to answer.
