Hello My name is Edberg I am new to this website and I like it very much. I have a 1974 Ford F-100 with a 302 5.0 2 bb carb and a 3/4 ton rear axle and a 4 spd tranny the engine is a 1976 and tranny is a 78 I was woundering if you guys and girls can help me out with my problem I have a poping through the carb when I shift through gears and when I go up hills also it wont like me go past 60 mph just pops through the carb and jerks the truck. I have checked the vaccum lines and points new plugs and wires new fuel filter put a different carb on and I think that is about it. I tryed everything guys I need my baby back and running again. My mom says sell it I told her NO WAY.
did the timeing by the book new timing chain and new intake gasket because had to replace the head gasket. and what im I looking for for if it is a burnt valve or not.
Check your firing order on your engine "firing order, 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8"
the firing order is located on top of your intake manifold, and the cylinder number is also casted on the top of your intake manifold close to the valve covers. Could be a cross spark plug wire.
When installing points, Install points and condenser first, then set your timing
