cooling question

Whooooh! The lever type is just a safe way to release the pressure before opening. My recovery type cap came with the tank. It allow flow in both direction according to pressure out/suction in. If you want just the cap you would have to find one from a vehicle that came with recovery that would fit your radiator. Maybe from the first year the trucks had it whenever that was.

cooling question

Is your truck still pushing the water out of the radiator after you put the new cap on? The lever type radiator caps does not mean it's two way, it works the same way as the non lever types, but allows you to safely releive the pressure in your system before removing the cap. The same radiator cap for your truck is the same cap ford used until 1996, the cap is actually designed for a overflow reservoir system, but wasn't reguired in the early years because of how the system was designed. So actally, you could put a reservoir recovery tank on your truck, and the cap you have would work the same as the lever type, but you shouldnt need one.
