failing steering box
i cannot find out what my steering box is i have a 1975 f-100 body on a 70 something carriage the steering box is power assisted and it has about 1/4 turn play in it plus shaft comes out about an inch can i rebuild this or buy a new or rebuilt one is there a part number on it? thanks

If it were me, I would go for the rebuilt unit at the jobber parts place. You could try adjusting it, but it sounds bad.
Order one for a 70 ford truck, and when you get it compare it to the one on the truck now.
I would fix it soon, it sounds like the box is worn out.
