Axle Code "35" = ?

I checked the oil level and the service bay did top it off. I have a theory that involves your bearing comment. Maybe they used a lube that was too viscuous, and I parked uphill, so the oil ran off the bearing and made noise that day. Now it's gone.

It sounds like a bearing. You may have some bearings going bad somewhere inside. Does the pinion move up & down at all when you try to wiggle it? .
