Defrosters only?

I had the heat turned on in my 99 250 today and it just stoped blowing air from the floor and normal vents. It now runs defrosters only and it runs this way on every setting except for off. Any ideas? Help please

Either a vacuum hose is off or if you have a psd the pump may have stopped working.

Help Vacuum problem

I was in my truck 2 days ago with the heat one and it stop coming out of the vents and will only blow out of the defrosters now. I have had several people tell me this must be a vacuum leak, the only problem I have is I do not know where to start looking. It's a 99 250 standard cab long bed with the 5.4l. Help please

Vacuum hoses under the hood behind the battery. You can usually hear the hissing vacuum leak sound if you know what to listen for...Check those first.

If a hose is split or has become disconnected it is probably under the hood. There are hoses inside behind the glove box you can check, but I doubt if there is a problem there. If you keep stuff on top of the dash, something may have fallen down the defroster duct and jammed the door.

also don't forget the vacum actuator itself maybe bad and leaking you can see that by removing the glovebox door.

Look behind/under the glove box. There is a vac hose conection that can come appart and cause this problem.
