Cruise control help

The cruise control stopped working all of a sudden on my 93 3.0. I found a diagram of the cruise control system on-line ( no help from the Haynes manual) There doesn't appear to be any leaks in the vacuum hoses, the acutator is attached to the throttle cable and moves freely.

Any other things I should look for? From doing a search on this topic, I thought connections in the steering wheel might be bad, but everything else on the wheel ( horn, signals, flashers) are Ok, as are the fuses.

I think I am looking at cruise control servo or cruise modulator. Anyone else agree or offer a different opinion? Also, if I do need to change the servo or CCM, how difficult is it? It doesn't look like a fun job to me.

Thanks in advance.

Have you checked your brake lights? If any of the brake light bulbs are burned out the cruise won't work.

Thank you Racerguy for posting this. This caused my cruise control to not work and also caused my rear antilock brake system to not work.

The speedometer and cruise control work off the tone wheel in the rear differential. There is an electrial sensor on the outside of diff above the drive shaft, but if your speedo is working and not jumping around then it's probably not the place to look.
