hey guys, back to the companies 93 F-250 plow truck. 351 and an auto tranny. I just recently replaced the tps. And the FPR, to fix a rich problem. Now after about fifteen minutes or more of driving, the check engine light comes on, and I get some nasty rough shifts from the tranny. It just slams into gear. I pulled the codes. . . KOEO i get 123 alot. KOER I get 998 123 998 123 and then the rpms change a bit, and the check engine light just stays lit. kinda wierd. But anyway, 123 is TPS above max of 4.5 volts. And I believe the 998 is refering to the 123. So how does that affect my shifting? Also the brake lights arent working. Bad ground? turn signals work, and so does the flashers. But no braking lights. The tail running lights work. The only thing that doesn't work is the braking lights. Thanks guys.

Still have the shifting problem, but I fixed the brake lights. Just a broken splice going to the trailor brake modual. So any ideas on the tranny?

The fpr is your ruel pressure regulator. Its located on your fuel rail, and has a vacuum line hooked up to it. If the diaphram is broken, itwill let too much fuel in, and give you a rich situation. Pull off the vacuum line and look for fuel in the line, or connector, or visible on the outside of the FPR. If there is some, replace the fpr. Now as far as my TPS, I never adjusted it, I don't remember the voltages, but correct me if I"m wrong, I tweak it by loosening the mounting screws and rotating it right? Thanks

Hey all, I checked the TPS and it seems to be working correctly. I had some problems with the volt meters, and found this. With one volt meter, set on the thousands setting, I was reading .91something volts, and as i opened the throttle, it got to just below 4 volts when the voltmeter read OL. On another volt meter it read OF. However, setting it on the hundreds meter, I got it go to all the way. At WOT it was 4.54 volts. Right where it should be right? But I noticed as I was slowely opening the throttle, that right around 4 volts I would get the either OL or OF signal just briefly, and then it would return to giving me my readings. So is there a problem with this new tps? I checked the resistance on it, Started at about .7 ohms, and then rose evenly to about 1.2 ohms at 3/4 throttle. Then it would drop off from there to WOT to about 1 ohm. Why would it rise and fall like that? Anyway, she still shifts hard sometimes, but I noticed that it is more rare then not. And remember that the check engine light comes on when it shifts hard, and throws the code 123. well see what you all think. Thanks
