well i finall set my timing and i had my neighbor validate it (he restors classic cars so i feel i can trust him) but any way now i am wondering since i have a larger cam running that it is affecting my vaccum to where it cannot advance the timing enough cause it still studders slightly at low speeds and when i floor it but after that is runs just dandy but when i slow down it does the same thing what do i need to look for or if anyone from phx, AZ wants to help out i would greatly appreciate it but please help
ya thats what i am starting to think also cause i just rebuilt it and now when it sits over night it won't start in the morning and i have to drop an ounce of gas in the carb to get it started but i have set the choke in the proper position and i adjusted the accelerrator pump but i won't know until tomorrow morning cause it just seem like its not getting enough gas but when it does start up and you floor it it goes now without hesitation but if i lightly touch the pedal it almost stalls so i am still puzzled
If there is a leak in the carb, that allows the float bowl go dry, you have to fill it before the engine will start, regardless of what the choke is doing. The choke can't pull extra fuel that isn't there. You also might want to change your fuel filters too.
